Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Super Customizable: Swap in your favorite cheese, meat, or add‑on such as pickles or sprouts.
  • Full of Flavor: The combination of fresh vegetables, tangy dressing, and salty bacon makes this easy club sandwich truly irresistible.
  • Great for busy days: Serve this turkey and ham club sandwich with a side of chips or air-fried curly fries for a quick and easy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • White bread: Soft but toasts up nicely for extra crunch. Texas Toast would also work well.
  • Cheese: American cheese and provolone will make this the best club sandwich recipe that you’ve ever made.
  • Meats: For this recipe, I used deli-style turkey and ham. Try to pick up the roasted versions instead of the sweet varieties.
  • Dressing: Mixing together mustard and mayo gives this sandwich a tangy, homemade spread that packs a flavor punch.
  • Avocado: While avocado is not always found on this classic sandwich, it adds a great flavor and a touch of creaminess that you will love.

See the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts, nutritional information, and detailed instructions.

Variations

  • Bread: Add a little extra flavor to your ham and turkey club by using rye or cheesy garlic toast as the bread instead.
  • Add some heat: If you are a fan of spice, try using Cajun turkey or spicy mustard on your sandwich.
  • More protein: Replace the deli turkey or ham with grilled chicken breast. Juicy, smoky, and a bit heartier.

How to Make a Club Sandwich

Fry up some bacon, and toast your bread slices, so you can build the best club sandwich that you’ve ever had. Trust me, this recipe will become a staple in your household.

  1. Step 1:Make the dressing. Combine the mayonnaise and mustard until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Step 2:Start layering. Spread the dressing on one piece of bread, then top with two slices of turkey, ham, and a piece of provolone cheese.
  3. Step 3: Prep the center bread. Take another slice of bread and spread the mayo mixture on both sides; place it on top of the provolone.
  4. Step 4: Add the veggies. Top the middle slice of bread with cheddar cheese, bacon halves, avocado, lettuce, and tomatoes.
  5. Step 5: Finish the sandwich. Spread the mayo mixture on the final slice of bread and place it on top of the sandwich. Cut into four even-sized pieces before serving. Enjoy for lunch with some chips and guacamole!

Expert Tips

  • Make triangles: To create traditional triangle-shaped sandwiches, make a diagonal cut, then rotate the sandwich and make another diagonal cut in the opposite direction. Then you will have perfectly shaped triangular pieces.
  • Presentation: For a beautiful presentation, turn the sandwiches on their sides on your plate. Then you can clearly see the layers.
  • Use precooked bacon: Save time in the kitchen by using store-bought, precooked bacon that can be microwaved. Then there’s no need to clean up all those bacon splatters.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pair with classic potato salad or dill pickle macaroni salad for a simple meal.
  • A side of dill pickles or a dill pickle spear will enhance the flavor of this sandwich even further.
  • Cowboy cookies are a great sweet treat to enjoy after one of these sandwiches.
