They’re also a classic sweet treat for any holiday. I’ve seen them at every holiday party from Independence Day to Christmas. Easter Sugar Cookies

These cookies are made with a simple, basic sugar cookie dough that always bakes up soft and chewy, thanks to the corn syrup I add to them. I mix in Easter candy sprinkles, then top the unbaked cookies with more sprinkles for extra festiveness, and finally, I bake them until they’re golden, soft, and chewy. It’s a ridiculously easy recipe that everyone always scrambles for. In fact, I usually make a double or triple batch just to be sure I have enough!

Recipe Tips

  • Be sure your butter is fully softened. The cookies have the best texture when the creamed butter and sugar are light and creamy.
  • Use fresh baking powder and baking soda for the best cookie texture.
  • Press your cookies down until they’re discs, but don’t flatten them. You want them to be a bit thick after they’re baked.
  • Line your baking sheet with parchment paper so the cookies come off easily.

Variations

  • You can make these cookies for any occasion by simply changing the color of the sprinkles.
  • Add Easter M&Ms for more color and chocolaty flavor.
  • Omit the sprinkles and serve these sugar cookies any time for any reason.

What to Serve with Easter Sugar Cookies

These cookies are delicious with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee or tea. You can also dip them in dessert dips, and of course, add them to a larger Easter dessert spread with all your other favorite Easter-themed sweets.
