How to Make Candied Bacon Crackers

  1. Line the crackers up on a wire rack situated over a baking sheet lined with foil. Cut the bacon into pieces that fit on the crackers.

  1. Mix the glaze ingredients in a small bowl and top the crackers with bacon and a teaspoon of the brown sugar mixture.

3. Bake at 350ยฐF until the bacon is cooked through and caramelized.

  • Avoid thick-cut bacon. It takes too long to cook, and your crackers will end up getting soggy.
  • It’s important to cook these crackers on an elevated rack. This allows plenty of air flow, so everything gets nice and crispy without any sogginess from grease.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 sleeve club crackers, 32 crackers
  • ยฝ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ยฝ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet and lightly spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Line the crackers on the rack.
  • Cut each strip of bacon into 4 equal parts.
  • In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  • Place a piece of the cut bacon on top of each cracker followed by a teaspoon of brown sugar mixture.
  • Press brown sugar down and even it out a bit.
  • Bake for 22-25 minutes or until the bacon is cooked through and the mixture has caramelized.
