Ingredients
- Ground Beef: The main protein in these air fry tacos, bringing juicy, savory flavor to every bite. Want a lighter or vegetarian option? Swap in ground turkey, shredded chicken, pulled pork, or seasoned black beans.
- Onion: Adds sweetness and a subtle caramelized flavor that enhances the beef mixture.
- Jalapeños: Bring a punch of heat and smokiness. For a milder taco, simply leave them out or replace with diced bell peppers.
- Flour Tortillas: Taquito-size tortillas act as the crispy, handheld shell that holds all the delicious filling together. Their smaller size makes them perfect for quick air frying and easy serving.

How to Make Tacos in the Air Fryer
Making this air fryer taco recipe is incredibly simple—just as easy as your usual taco routine, only faster and crispier thanks to the air fryer. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes, grab a metal taco holder, cast iron skillet or frying pan, and let’s get cooking!
- Step 1: Sear the Filling. In a skillet, cook the ground beef, onions, and jalapeños over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onions are soft and translucent. Then, stir in the garlic and cook for another 1–2 minutes, drain the grease, and return the mixture to the pan.
- Step 2: Season and Simmer. Add the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
- Step 3: Build and Fry. Place tortillas into a taco holder and fill each with the seasoned meat mixture. Lightly spray both sides of the tortillas with non-stick cooking spray. Air fry at 390°F for 4 minutes, or until crispy.
- Step 4: Top and Serve. Remove from the air fryer and top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, avocado salsa, cheese, cilantro, or your favorite taco toppings. Serve warm and enjoy!
