Ingredients
It only takes a few simple ingredients to make this recipe. You’ll find them all easily at your local grocery store.
- Chicken Breasts: Make sure you grab boneless and skinless breasts. This way you don’t have to worry about deboning or removing the skin. We’re going to cut these in half lengthwise to make them thinner. If you want to skip this step, look for thin chicken cutlets instead.
- Heinz 57 sauce: This sauce is like ketchup but better! It has a variety of different seasonings added that make it uniquely tangy and flavorful.
- Honey: For sweetening the thin chicken marinade.
- Seasonings: A simple blend of garlic powder, paprika, Slap Ya Mama seasoning, and black pepper enhance the flavor of the sauce and result in the most delicious baked chicken cutlets in the oven.
Variations
- Less Spicy: Omit the Slap Ya Mama and red pepper flakes if you don’t like spicy foods.
- More Spicy: If you can’t get enough heat, add sliced jalapeรฑos to give it a spicier kick.
- Earthier Flavor: Add a touch of blackstrap molasses for an earthier flavor.
- Seasonings: While I’m pretty partial to this version, you can easily change up the marinade or seasonings to create thin baked chicken in flavors you love.
