How to Make Cherry Cream Cheese Pastry Ring

  • Step 1: Combine all the filling ingredients except the water and cornstarch and cook over low heat until hot and bubbly. Then, add the cornstarch slurry and cook until it has thickened. Set aside to cool.
  • Step 2: Beat the cream cheese in a medium bowl until light and fluffy. Then, add the remaining filling ingredients and beat until combined.
  • Step 3: Separate the crescent roll dough into its precut triangles.
Crescent pastry triangles formed into a circle with cream cheese mixture spread around the center edge of the pastry.

Step 4: Arrange the triangles into a ring on an ungreased baking sheet or a pizza pan, with the wider ends at the center. The opening should be about 5 inches. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the wide inner portion of the ring.

Step 5: Next, top it with the homemade fresh cherry filling.

Step 6: Fold the triangles over the filling, tucking the tips under the inner side of the ring.

Step 7: Bake at 375 until golden.

  • Step 8: Mix the glaze ingredients and drizzle them over the cooled ring. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Stir your cherry filling constantly while cooking to prevent scorching.
  • Ensure the wide ends of your triangle overlap to form a solid base while laying them out to create the crescent ring.
  • Try to leave a little room between the filling and both the inner part of the ring and the outer portion where the triangles split apart. This helps keep the filling in the ring where it belongs.
