S’mores Cookies FAQs

What are s’mores cookies?

S’mores cookies are soft and chewy cookies inspired by the classic campfire treat. They combine chocolate, marshmallow, and cookie dough into one delicious dessert that tastes just like traditional s’mores without needing a campfire.

What does brown butter do in cookies?

Browning the butter adds a rich, nutty flavor that enhances the overall taste of the cookies. It creates a deeper, more complex flavor that pairs perfectly with the chocolate and marshmallow.

Can I make s’mores cookie dough ahead of time?

Absolutely. The dough can be prepared and refrigerated for up to 48 hours before baking. Chilled dough can even help develop a richer flavor and thicker cookie texture.

Can I freeze s’mores cookie dough?

Yes. Scoop the dough into individual cookie portions and freeze them on a baking sheet. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container and store for up to 3 months.

Why did my cookies spread too much?

Cookies may spread excessively if the browned butter is still warm when mixed into the dough. Be sure to let the butter cool completely before adding the remaining ingredients.

How long are s’mores cookies good for?

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Keeping them sealed helps maintain their soft and chewy texture.
