Chocolate and white chocolate – it’s a classic combination. You’ll find it in candy, ice cream, and of course, cookies. Specifically, you’ll find it in these delicious cookies. I’ve made all kinds of cookies over the years, from simple chocolate chip cookies to more involved monster cookies and everything in between. Believe it or not, I only recently began making these white chocolate chip cookies. This is a recipe I got from a friend of mine, and I’m so glad she shared it! It’s so simple but it makes for such delicious flavor.

White Chocolate Chip Cookies

White chocolate chip cookies are one of the easiest recipes to make, so I’m a little surprised at myself that I never made this version sooner. I guess when you cook as much as I do, things just fall through the cracks. I’m so glad I took the time to make these, though!

These cookies are a one-two punch of chocolate goodness. Delicious chocolate cookies are filled with white chocolate chips for a double dose of chocolate in every bite! They’re soft and tender, and the chocolate and white chocolate work together perfectly to create a well-balanced chocolate experience that is so sweet and decadent, you’ll be racing back to get seconds before they’re gone!

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re already itching to make these cookies – and I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t be – you probably have some questions about them. Luckily for you, this FAQ covers all the major questions about these delicious cookies.

What Are The Best White Chocolate Chips To Use?

Go with the highest-quality white chocolate chips that you can find. Low-grade brands often use fillers and just don’t taste as good. The overall winner among all major test kitchens, however, is Ghirardelli Classic White Chips.

Why Do You Need Brown and White Sugar In Cookies?

Both sugars do different things as they cook. White sugar makes cookies browner and crispier, while brown sugar makes cookies moister and chewier. So combining the two creates a balance for the perfect cookie texture.

What is The Secret to Soft Cookies?

The biggest secret to soft cookies is not baking them for too long. The longer cookies are baked, the crispier they get. So if you want soft cookies, bake your cookie until they’re just done. In addition, using more brown sugar than white sugar results in a moister, softer cookie. I also will add a teaspoon or tablespoon of corn syrup to my batter and a little more flour and that will give you soft, thicker cookies.

Why Won’t My Chocolate Chips Melt?

They’re not supposed to, at least not in the context of cookies. Chocolate chips are made to retain their shape. They have less cocoa butter than chocolate that melts more easily like baking or melting chocolate. The idea of chocolate chips is that they get soft but retain their chocolate chip shape when baked in a cookie.

Can I Freeze These Cookies?

Absolutely! These cookies can be frozen for up to three months.

Variations

The thing about cookies is that so many other ingredients can be added to change up the flavor resulting in a new recipe.

  • Different types of nuts – Walnuts, pecans, and almonds, are all excellent choices and give a little crunch to every bite:
  • Baking chips – With all the different types of baking chips available, the flavors are endless.
  • Chocolate chunks and white chocolate chunks are a delicious addition to add to your cookie recipeas well.

How to Store Chocolate White Chocolate Chip Cookies

You can store these cookies on the counter in an airtight container for up to three weeks. They’ll last for up to two months in the refrigerator. They’ll also keep in the freezer for up to three months.

When storing these or any cookies, always ensure that they are as free from air as possible so that they stay moist and delicious.
