Taco Crescent Ring

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jalapeno, stem and seeds removed
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1.25 ounce taco seasoning mix
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 16 ounce refried beans
  • (2) 8 ounce Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Sliced olives
  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro
  • Green onions
  • Salsa

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • In a large frying pan or skillet, add ground beef, jalapenos, and onions.
  • Cook until meat is no longer pink and pepper and onions are tender.
  • Drain grease and return to the pan.
  • Add taco mix and beef broth. Stir to combine and simmer for 3-4 minutes or until slightly thickened.
  • Unroll crescent rolls and separate into pre-cut triangles.
  • Place triangles on an ungreased baking sheet so that the wider end of the crescent is in the center forming the circle with about a 5-inch opening in the center and the smaller tip of the crescent is on the outside.
  • *When forming the circle, the wider ends of the crescents will overlap each other.
  • Spread refried beans over the wide part of the crescents.
  • Spoon taco meat filling on top of refried beans.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the taco meat.
  • Fold the small tip of the crescent over the meat mixture and tuck under the wider part to secure forming the ring.
  • Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes.
  • Cut into desired slices and top with your favorite taco toppings.

Notes

  • Be sure to arrange the triangles so that they overlap and you have a nice, solid surface for your filling.
  • Leave a bit of space between the filling and the edge of the solid part of the ring.
  • Let the ring rest for about 10 minutes before slicing, so the filling can set.
