Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, add breakfast sausage. Using a spatula, break up sausage while cooking over medium heat.
  • Once the sausage is completely cooked, add butter into the pan.
  • Sprinkle flour, Slap Ya Mama®, pepper, and garlic powder over sausage and stir until well coated. Continue stirring and let flour cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour in milk while stirring constantly. Once milk is fully incorporated, reduce heat and simmer until the gravy thickens.

Notes

  • Reheating: I like to warm leftover gravy in a skillet or pot on the stove over medium heat, stirring often so it heats evenly. If it’s too thick, just splash in a little milk to loosen it up. The microwave works too if you’re short on time.
  • Brown the Flour: Let the flour cook and brown slightly before adding the milk. This step deepens the flavor and keeps your gravy from tasting like raw flour.
