Country Style BBQ Beef Ribs

Jump to Recipe

These country style BBQ beef ribs give you all the tender, juicy, meaty, slow-cooked flavor and texture of classic BBQ beef ribs without the work of removing membranes or dealing with bones. They’re the perfect choice for easy ribs that cook a bit faster but get just as deliciously tender as traditional ribs.

Ribs are a classic summer dish, but we often get the craving for them when the weather is cold and gray. Rather than doing without, we’ve come up with recipes that deliver all that great outdoor flavor while being cooked inside! We bake our boneless beef ribs with maple brown sugar in the oven with great results, and our crockpot pork ribs get so tender and juicy without us ever having to step out the door. These are the kinds of rib recipes we love the most because we never have to wait for a sunny day to make them.

Now, we’ve added a new easy rib recipe to our rotation. These country style BBQ beef ribs are boneless, so they’re easy to make and eat, but they still get just as tender and juicy as traditional ribs. We use a basic two-part cooking method of simmering them low and low on the stove and then finishing them off on the grill for 10 minutes. Here’s a great secret, though. You can also finish them in the oven! The result is ribs that would fall off the bone if they had them, and that have a wonderful color and texture.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Limited Ingredients: It only takes four ingredients to make these ribs.
  • Easy: This recipe is so easy that even beginners can make it.
  • Convenient: The bulk of the cooking is done in a pot. After that, you can finish the ribs off on a grill on sunny days or in your oven when the weather isn’t cooperating.
  • Super Tender: Simmering these ribs makes them so tender, and the liquid ensures they stay juicy and never dry out.
  • Great for Meal Prep: These ribs are freezer-friendly so you can make extra for future meals.

Ingredients

  • Boneless Beef Ribs: Boneless beef ribs have the perfect amount of marbling and connective tissue to get super tender while simmering.
  • Simmering Liquid: A mix of BBW sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce tenderizes the ribs and gives them a sweet, tangy flavor.

See the recipe card at the end of the post for a full list of ingredients and their exact measurements.

Flavor Variations

  • Ribs: You can use this method with your favorite varieties of bone-in beef or pork ribs, as well as country style pork ribs.
  • Spicy: Add red pepper flakes or cayenne to the liquid for a spicy kick.
  • BBQ Sauce: Use your favorite brand and flavor of BBQ sauce. They all add something a little different to the recipe.

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauces and vinegar in a large pot. Then, add the beef ribs, and add water until they’re covered.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to the lowest possible simmer and cook until the meat is super tender.
  3. Remove the ribs, brush them with more sauce, and grill for 15 minutes on medium heat.
  4. Alternately, bake the ribs at 350 for about 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Tips

  • The key to these ribs is a super-low simmer. The water should just be bubbling.
  • Choose boneless ribs that have plenty of fat and connective tissue to ensure tender, juicy ribs.
  • If finishing off the ribs in the oven, give them about a minute under the broiler at the end to caramelize them a bit.

Pairing Suggestions

These ribs are perfect with classic BBQ sides like Boston baked beans, macaroni and cheese, or air fryer curly fries.
