Pulled pork is such a versatile dish. I love to make up a big batch for dinner and serve it with bread and vegetables or add BBQ sauce to it for pulled pork sandwiches. I’ve even used it in skillets, bakes, and casseroles. The thing about pulled pork is that it reheats so well and tastes so amazing that you can use it in almost anything. I especially love using it in these delicious fried tacos. I’ll make these for Taco Tuesday or just any time me and my guy are hungry for some fried taco bliss.

Leftover Pulled Pork Tacos

These delicious tacos start with leftover pulled pork. You don’t even have to heat it up! I give my tortillas an initial fry to give them a nicely crisped exterior on both sides. Then I fill them with pulled pork and cheese, fold them in half, and fry them again until they’re golden brown and crispy. Then I serve them with BBQ sauce for dipping. That’s all there is to it! The entire process only takes a few minutes, and when it’s done, I have a plate full of delicious tacos that no one can resist.

Recipe Tips

  • Don’t skip coating your tortillas in the hot oil before filling them. It helps get the shells extra crispy and creates a barrier to the moisture from the pulled pork.
  • For tacos that are crispy, not soggy, fry in small batches so the oil stays nice and hot.
  • A heavy skillet or frying pan is best for frying because it keeps the oil uniformly hot.

Variations

  • Add BBQ sauce to your pulled pork to make BBQ pulled pork tacos.
  • For a kick of heat, add diced jalapenos to the shredded pork.
  • Taco blend and Mexican blend cheese are both excellent for these tacos.
  • Add all your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cabbage or lettuce, salsa, red onions, cilantro, and guacamole as topping, if desired.
