Italian Sausage Pasta Recipe

This Italian sausage pasta is a hearty and delicious, cheesy one-pot meal that is loaded with Italian sausage, ground beef, seasoned perfectly in a savory sauce with lots of cheese, and rotini pasta. The perfect weeknight meal the whole family will enjoy.

  • In a large dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter and cook sausage links until browned on all sides.
  • Once sausage has browned, remove from pan and slice into ½ inch thick pieces, then return to pan.
  • Add ground beef, onions, and jalapenos.
  • Cook until meat is no longer pink and onions and peppers are soft. Drain grease and return to pan.
  • Sprinkle oregano, basil, and pepper into the meat mixture. Stir to combine.
  • Pour tomato sauce, tomato paste, and diced tomatoes, into the pan. Stir. Cover and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirred occasionally.
  • Add beef broth and pasta to the pan. Stir and continue cooking until the pasta is tender.
  • Remove from heat and add shredded cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted.
  • Serve hot with a side salad and crusty bread.
