Instructions

How to Roast Garlic

  • Cut ¼ off the head of the garlic.
  • Place the garlic bulb, root side down, on a piece of aluminum foil about 5x5 inches.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the garlic and add a pinch of salt.
  • Wrap the foil around the garlic to seal completely. Place in the air fryer basket and cook at 390 degrees for 20 minutes, (to roast in the oven, place on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes - 1 hour).
  • Remove and once the garlic is cool enough to handle, unwrap and squeeze the garlic cloves into a small bowl. Add butter, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Stir until all the ingredients are combined.

Garlic Cheese Toast

  • Add butter mixture to each piece of bread and place on the baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with shredded cheeses
  • Place under the broiler just until the cheese is hot and melty. Only a matter of a few minutes.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Make your bread slices about ½-inch thick so they are easy to grab and eat.
  • A 5x5 square of foil is the perfect size for wrapping your garlic bulb before roasting.
  • Squeeze the garlic out while it's still very warm so it pops out easily.
