- 1 box puff pastry sheets
- 2 Granny Smith apples, sliced ½ inch thick, core center
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- coarse sugar, for topping
- Optional: caramel sauce, for drizzle
Preheat the oven to 400° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cut puff pastry sheets into ½ inch thick strips.
Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle over apple slices.
Wrap 2-3 strips of puff pastry around each apple ring through the center and around the apple.
Place wrapped apple rings on prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, whisk egg and water together.
Brush the tops of the puff pastry wrapped apples with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven, drizzle with caramel sauce right before serving.
