Easy Au Gratin Potatoes

  • Preheat oven to 350° and butter a 3 quart casserole dish or baking dish. Set aside.
  • In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add onion, garlic salt, black pepper and Slap Ya Mama seasoning, stir and cook until onions are translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and cook until smooth.
  • Gradually pour heavy cream, milk and chicken broth into pan, stirring constantly until combined.
  • Bring to a boil and cook until thickened.
  • Add shredded cheese into skillet, stir until melted.
  • Next, add potato slices into cheese sauce, stir to coat and pour into prepared baking dish.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 65-70 minutes.
  • Remove foil and continue to bake until potatoes are tender, approximately 30 additional minutes.
  • Carefully remove from oven and serve hot. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
