Ingredients

Instructions

  • Using an electric skillet, or large cast iron skillet, heat oil to 375°.
  • Cut each cube steak into 4 pieces and place on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up excess liquid. Place additional paper towels on top of cube steak and press to eliminate most liquid in each piece of meat.
  • While the oil is heating up, add ½ of the flour into a shallow bowl.
  • Add the remaining ½ of flour in another shallow bowl plus add all the spices and seasonings. Stir to combine.
  • In a third shallow bowl, whisk egg, hot sauce and buttermilk together.
  • Once the oil is ready, pat dry bites again and place about ½ of the cube steaks into the plain flour and coat on both sides.
  • Next add the cube steak to the egg mixture, then into the flour and seasonings, and then into the hot skillet.
  • Fry for 2-3 minutes on both sides until golden brown.
  • Once the first batch is cooked, place on a plate lined with paper towels.
  • Repeat the coating process for the remaining cube steak. For best results, make sure to coat the cube steak right before going into the skillet.
  • Place on Hawaiian rolls, cover with your favorite country gravy, and enjoy.
