Using an electric skillet, or large cast iron skillet, heat oil to 375°.
Cut each cube steak into 4 pieces and place on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up excess liquid. Place additional paper towels on top of cube steak and press to eliminate most liquid in each piece of meat.
While the oil is heating up, add ½ of the flour into a shallow bowl.
Add the remaining ½ of flour in another shallow bowl plus add all the spices and seasonings. Stir to combine.
In a third shallow bowl, whisk egg, hot sauce and buttermilk together.
Once the oil is ready, pat dry bites again and place about ½ of the cube steaks into the plain flour and coat on both sides.
Next add the cube steak to the egg mixture, then into the flour and seasonings, and then into the hot skillet.
Fry for 2-3 minutes on both sides until golden brown.
Once the first batch is cooked, place on a plate lined with paper towels.
Repeat the coating process for the remaining cube steak. For best results, make sure to coat the cube steak right before going into the skillet.
Place on Hawaiian rolls, cover with your favorite country gravy, and enjoy.
