These cheesy potatoes are made with thinly sliced potatoes, sharp cheddar cheese, seasonings, and baked until the potatoes are tender.

  • Preheat oven to 350° and butter a 2 ½ quart baking dish or spray with a non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Add onions, garlic salt, pepper and Slap Ya Mama. Stir and cook until onions are translucent.
  • Sprinkle flour over onions and cook until smooth.
  • Gradually pour milk into the skillet and stir constantly.
  • Bring to a boil and cook until thickened.
  • Add shredded cheese, stir until melted and add sliced potatoes.
  • Spoon potato mixture into prepared baking dish.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  • Remove foil and continue to bake until potatoes are tender, 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve hot and season with salt and pepper, as desired.
